‘The Walking Dead’ cast discusses the upcoming season at Comic-Con

The Walking Dead has had a huge presence at this year’s Comic-Con. From The Walking Dead Escape, to their booth with its awesome photo opportunity, to yesterday’s panel in Hall H.

Yesterday, we sat in on the roundtable interviews with The Walking Dead cast members, Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohen, Danai Gurira, David Morrisey, and producers, Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, and Greg Nicotero.

Here are the highlights and a few photos from the interview:

– Nicotera and Hurd talked about the details that have gone into the prison set, which even though it has been built on their soundstage in Senoia, GA, has a great “sense of scope.” The designers made sure every detail of the prison is realistic, down to the moss growing on the drain pipes.

– Andrew Lincoln (Rick), who is not a fan of the term “Ricktatorhip”, said his character’s number one priority will still be taking care of his family. He also described Rick’s attitude this season as “either you’re with me or against me, or shut the f*ck up.”

He also explained that this more “evolved” society they encounter, “holds up the mirror to the group.” For the first time we might see them look beyond just surviving.

– As for the comparison between Rick and Lori and Maggie and Glenn, Lauren Cohan (Maggie) thinks that Maggie and Glenn’s relationship, because it is new and because of the circumstances, is only “getting stronger.”

– Laurie Holden discussed the unlikely friendship that blossoms between Michonne and Andrea in the third season. “Both are Alpha females,” she explained. “They genuinely love and respect one another.” But don’t expect their relationship to be all sunshine and roses. “It’s a roller coaster ride,” Holden adds.

– Norman Reedus also talked about the highly anticipated return of Daryl’s brother, Merle. He’s coming back and he’ pissed, Reedus said. But he added that Daryl won’t turn hi back on him because he is “the only kin Daryl has.”
