It looks like Iron Man 3 will continue filming in Wilmington, N.C. through at least September 7, maybe longer, before moving to Miami where they will finish out the shoot.
New permits for Caged (the movie’s working title) were issued for filming from Monday August 13, 2012 – Friday September 7, 2012, 6:00 pm to 7:00 am, at Port of Wilmington, 1 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, N.C.
The shipyard scenes will include 3 main cast members and 10 extras.
This week, overnight filming continues around Church St and Railroad St in Rose Hill, N.C. where the streets have been decorated for Christmas, complete with lights and fake snow. Filming continues through Wednesday, August 1, and will pick up again on Monday, August 6 through Wednesday, August 8. The shoot will also feature “small explosions, controlled fires, gunfire, atmospheric smoke as well as stunt activity” and yes, Robert Downey Jr. has been spotted on the set!
On Friday, August 3, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 am, filming is set to continue at National Gypsum, 838 Sunnyvale Drive, Wilmington.

I love all of these little spoilers because it makes the anticipation of the movie that much more palpable. Although a Christmas setting isn’t that important to me, perhaps there will be some touching moments between Stark and Potts that lead to her becoming collateral for the Mandarin. I guess I can just watch the previously released movies again to tide me over. I can pull up the second movie on Dish Online anytime which I do often when I’m traveling for my employer, Dish. I use my laptop to see Ivan Vanko give Tony Stark a run for his money. The best part is I don’t have massive storage or fool with so many digital rights management processes. I can’t wait to see The Mandarin give the next threat.
I just still cant believe somebody like jennifer aniston would go somewhere like wilmington if they really wanted to do a movie in a country town they would do a movie in whiteville,nc now thats country
I’m trying to send for an autograph this week. Should I send to Port of Wilmington, 1 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, N.C.? When I google mapped it, there wasn’t any buildings. I think.
I wouldn’t send it there, it is just a big shipyard you might be better off sending it to the studio maybe
