Casting Call for ‘August: Osage County’ in Oklahoma this weekend

Last week reported August: Osage County would begin filming in Oklahoma next month and now they are looking for extras.

There will be an open casting call held at the Doubletree Hotel Warren Place, 6110 S. Yale Ave., Tulsa, OK, (in the Parkview East ballroom) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The production is seeking a variety of people to play extras during filming, which is scheduled to begin Sept. 24 in the Pawhuska and Bartlesville, OK areas.

“We will ask everyone to provide us with contact information and clothing sizes, and we will take everyone’s pictures,” casting director Chris Freihofer said. “The whole process should take less than 10 minutes.”

Filming for the movie will begin on September 24 and run on a Monday – Friday schedule.

August: Osage County is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tracy Letts, about a dysfunctional family, that gathers at their ancestral Pawhuska home when their patriarch disappears.

Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin and Juliette Lewis star in the film.

If you can’t make it to this weekend’s casting call but are in Oklahoma and are interested in applying, you can email a recent photo, your name, height and all clothing sizes, including shoes, and all contact information, including mailing and email addresses, and availability to AugustExtras@gmail.com.

UPDATE: Casting Call has been moved to the Tulsa Promenade Mall to accommodate more people.
