It seems the first signs for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire have already been spotted around Atlanta.
We know CL Casting has been busy casting extras for the Hunger Games sequel and a few of the movie’s stars, including Jennifer Lawrence, have already arrived in town to start rehearsing, but could filming be underway already?
One of our Twitter followers, @Cre8iveone, spotted the sign above for “GGX” outside the Georgia Dome. Interestingly, according to a listing on Georgia.org, crew members applying for jobs on the upcoming feature film The Idiom (which is believed to be the working title for Catching Fire) are to send their resumes to ggxproductions@gmail.com Coincidence? Probably not.
The yellow signs with a movie’s “code name” on them are usually posted to help cast and crew find the exact filming location where they need to report. So if GGX is the code for Catching Fire, which it looks like it is, does that mean they are already filming?
We can’t confirm they are, or where exactly the signs are directing cast and crew to go (it might be GWCC), but it does look like SOMETHING Catching Fire-related is happening in that area! Since filming isn’t slated to begin until next month, it’s possible they’re just rehearsing or holding casting calls/interviews this week and that is what the signs are being used for.
If you spot any of these GGX signs around Atlanta, have info about where Catching Fire is filming, or just want to speculate with other fans about where they’ll be filming next, let us know in a comment below! You can also email us your scoop at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

I can confirm that GGX really is catching fire. I was on a Warner Bros. Studio Tour last weekend and when we went to the part where production companies etc borrow/rent things, they had a few things there reserved for GGX, and the tour guide told us that it is catching fire, which starts filming soon. But somehow it’s a secret, and not really official… but anyway… I can confirm 100% sure that this is the second Hunger Games movie 🙂 Hope that helped!

They are doing some of the filming at KSU and have a base camp set up on Chastain across from my office. I got stuck in the traffic this morning.

@Lo – Lionsgate/Idiom/GGX are all tied together according to the GDEcD – https://www.georgia.org/INDUSTRIES/ENTERTAINMENT-INDUSTRY/FILM-PRODUCTION/Pages/movie-jobs.aspx
Personally, while I understand the need for secrecy, fans are fans and I would love nothing more than for the production companies coming into GA to work with folks to help control the fans coming and help further promote virally. In these days of social media, when the stars are going into local establishments, snapping pics and tweeting, fan engagement is a great thing! I’m hoping to help promote that rather than fight it.

Yes they are filming at The Swan house in ATL. I’ll get some pics up today
Carrie, unfortunately crowds of fans hinder filming which causes delays, which causes alot of extra expenses for the production. As for letting everyone know when the actors are going into local establishments, I’m pretty sure they would want to be able to sit and eat their meal without a line of people asking for autographs. There are times when fans have kept a safe distance from set and actors have gone over to meet and sign autpgraphs for fans, but this happened when they had downtime during filming. A crowd of people with flash photography, yelling actors names repeatedly causes problems. After all, they are at work.
@Me I don’t disagree, but also don’t get the fans that cause a nuisance. I have plenty of PA friends and locators who have mentioned incredible issues with particular groups on the TWD sets. I try and encourage proper behavior, not acting like a fool and getting in the way of production or people living their lives ;).
There is a ggx sign up here in the Kahuku area. Its just down the road from turtle bay where they are supposedly staying at!
thanks so much for the update!
