The Santa Barbara International Film Festival will honor Robert De Niro on Dec. 8

It was recently announced that Robert De Niro has been chosen as the 2012 recipient of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.

The annual honor has been given to Michael Douglas, Quentin Tarantino, and Harrison Ford in the past.

The award won’t be given to De Niro at the film festival (to be held January 24 to February 3, 2013), but at a separate black-tie ceremony at the Bacara Resort and Spa in Santa Babara on December 8, 2012.

Tickets to the fundraising event start at $500. More information can be found at https://sbiff.org/events/kd/.
