As filmed-in-NYC TV shows and movies, like Blue Blood, The Good Wife, Elementary, and Law and Order: SVU, are getting back to work after Hurricane Sandy, it might be a while before the movie Noah can resume filming at their exterior set in Upper Brookville, NY.
As we’ve reported, crews had built a partial life-size Ark for the movie, which stars Russell Crowe as Noah, at Planting Fields in August.
Most of the exterior scenes for the movie were shot there before they moved to their studio in Brooklyn two weeks ago. Producers planned to return to Planting Fields to film the “tank work”, a.k.a. the flood scenes (ironically), before Nov. 9.
But, because of the damage, debris, and difficulty traveling in that area, the production company does not yet know if their ark survived the storm. “There are so many fallen trees — we can’t get any confirmation [of its condition] yet,” a source told THR.
Even if the set did make it through, the movie’s Nov. 9 wrap date is sure to be postponed at the very least. Stay tuned for more updates about other NYC-shot productions as they begin to head back to their sets this week.
