Yesterday we took a ride out to The Rockaways in Queens, an area we’ve been pretty familiar with for some time as it was a popular location for filming before Hurricane Sandy hit two weeks ago.
If you haven’t seen the devastation from Sandy first hand, we can assure you the images on the news don’t do it justice. It is nearly impossible to wrap your mind around the destruction – everywhere you look cars, boats, homes, and businesses have been destroyed. And, even though the news coverage has slowed down, people in these affected areas still need our help.
We stopped at churches along the way and offered what monetary support we could, along with our encouragement, the work they are doing is remarkable! We also took note of the organizations we saw working hard on the ground and put together the following list for those of you who want to help:
