‘Anchorman 2’ Atlanta production office building robbed (twice)

As we’ve reported, Judd Apatow plans to shoot some scenes for Anchorman 2 in NYC in the spring, but the bulk of the movie will be filmed in Atlanta.

As the production begins to gear up for filming, which is expected to begin in early March, they’ve opened offices in a warehouse on Defoors Hills Road in Atlanta (the same building where Ten was based), but it has already been compromised.

According to the Atlanta police, thieves stole hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire and tools from the Anchorman 2 office building.

The building’s owner says the thieves kicked in a door at a warehouse and began going through the building, yanking hundreds of thousands of dollars in wire. The warehouse was hit twice, once around Christmas and a second time on New Year’s Day.

“Unfortunately the alarm, we found out, was off Christmas Day with the other tenant moving. We got it activated once we found out two days after Christmas, when this tenant came in to get their phone lines set up, saw that all the electrical boxes were open, copper was stolen, they immediately called the police,” the landlord said.

After days of electricians rewiring the structure and upgrading security, crews are back to work prepping for the spring shoot.

It should be “burgled” instead of “robbed.”
