‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ now going by ‘Untitled Columbia Pictures Project’, filming starts in February

It seems that now that every movie fan with internet access knows The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was working under the title London Calling, Columbia decided to scrap the name and is now simply calling the sequel the “Untitled Columbia Pictures Project” or “UCP”.

There have been several new casting calls posted in the past couple of weeks for the flick (under UCP), most with filming dates from 2/12 – 2/26 in NYC.

Grant Wilfley also recently posted a casting call on their website looking for very skinny boys for the movie, you can check it out below:

Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking the following for the feature film Untitled Columbia Pictures Project:
Caucasian or Latino boys, 10-16 years old, very thin, with medium or olive complexion, and dark hair. Caucasian boys, ages 9-18, very, very skinny with visible ribs, and flexible with gymnastic or contortionist ability. Email a recent picture and contact info to ucp@gwcnyc.com. Write the role for which you are submitting in the subject line of your email.

But, of course, the big Spidey news this week was the announcement that Paul Giamatti is in talks to play the Rhino, “a hulking villain whose dim intelligence is balanced by severe strength and the ability to charge at superhuman speed.”

Start looking out for those “UCP” No Parking Signs around NYC, with filming starting in a couple weeks they should be popping up soon! If you have any scoop about where they are filming, email us at olv@onlocationvacations.com. To learn more about filming in NYC, download our e-guide.
