As we’ve reported, scouts have been visiting various locations around New Mexico, including Chama, in search of potential locations for Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming film, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and they must have found what they were looking for because the first casting call for the movie was announced today- in New Mexico!
MacFarlane will be directing and starring in the comedy which follows “a sheepish farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend leave him. When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman.”
Reportedly, Charlize Theron is in talks to play his wife.
The movie is expected to begin filming this spring and casting director Elizabeth Gabel is already gearing up to cast extras. According to a recent Facebook post, she will soon need men with facial hair. So guys, stop shaving NOW!

EG casting will be casting “A Million Ways to Die” with Seth McFarlane to shoot early spring. This will be ANOTHER western and we will need lots of men with lovely, long, manly, handlebar mustaches. The bigger the better. A great and fun project. Start grow out those mustaches for some great camera time.
