Ryan Gosling’s ‘How To Catch A Monster’ applies for Michigan Tax Incentives, Filming expected to begin in Detroit in May

As we reported last year, Ryan Gosling has been spotted scouting locations in Michigan, and has already posted casting calls, for his directorial debut, How To Catch A Monster, and now he has officially applied for Michigan’s tax credit.

Reportedly, the Gosling film applied for the state’s tax incentive program through the Michigan Film Office and is set to begin filming in Detroit in May.

Christina Hendricks will star in the film as a single mom of two who works at a fetish club and is “swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld.”

The Michigan Film Office gives incentives to productions with a budget of at least $100,000 which promises to spend 27 percent of all purchases within the state and hire 32 percent of their crew from Michigan.
