Matt Smith says he would film every episode of ‘Doctor Who’ in NYC if he could

When Doctor Who filmed scenes in New York City last year it was an amazing time for fans, and it turns out it was a special time for the show’s stars, too.

In a recent interview, Matt Smith (aka The Doctor) said he adores America and wants executive producer Steve Moffat to bring the show back to the States.

“If I could film we’d film every episode of Doctor Who in New York, “Smith said. “I have an affinity with the city. It has some wonderful locations and it is devastatingly vast and huge. Central Park looks amazing on camera.”

He added, “We didn’t realise how big it was until we filmed there, but the fans have been so supportive. The British are lot more reserved, and the North Americans have a lot more enthusiasm. I love it when people dress up as the Doctor and Amy. I like all that – that is the spirit of the place and there is a freedom to be enthusiastic there, which is hugely enjoyable.”

There’s no word on whether or not Dr. Who will film in the U.S. again, but we know Matt will be back in the States this spring when he begins filming Ryan Gosling’s How To Catch A Monster in Detroit.
