‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ is set to film a chase scene in Rochester, NY

It looks like Spider-Man is about to swing into Rochester, NY.

Producers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be in Rochester on Friday to scout locations for a car chase that will be shot in the upstate city. It is necessary to film the scenes in Rochester, and not New York City or Long Island where most of the movie is being filmed, because the laws are less restrictive.

The production company is expecting to shoot for 10 to 15 days in Rochester, though the exact dates are yet to be determined. Spider-Man 2 will also need local extras for the shoot.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 began filming at various locations throughout New York City, including China Town, Brooklyn, and Queens, last month.

The movie is based at Grumman Stages in Long Island. In addition to Grumman, they have stages at the Marcy Armory in Brooklyn and Gold Coast Studios where many famous NYC landmarks, like Times Square, have been recreated.

  1. alan,

not sure, but chances are once they have chosen the locations they’ll start scouting for extras, stay informed as will I.

  2. I’m going to stay tuned, too.
Visiting NYC in August, hopefully they will still have stuff to film outside and need extras!
