‘Need for Speed’ moves to Detroit, MI for the duration of filming

After starting production this spring in Northern California and spending the last two months filming in and around Atlanta, GA, Need for Speed has moved to Detroit, MI for the rest of their shoot.

The movie, starring Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, and Imogen Poots, chronicles a cross-country journey at impossible speeds. It is based on the popular video game series of the same name, which has sold more than 140 million copies worldwide. Last week Dreamworks announced it has partnered with Ford to feature several Ford vehicles in the movie, including a customized Mustang.

Thanks to one of our Twitter followers, @treinman we’ve learned Need for Speed is filming all day at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit.
