‘Transformers 4’ Filming Updates from Michigan: Detroit sets, a return to Adrian, Mark Wahlberg spotted at U of M, & more!

The cast and crew of Transformers 4 has been keeping busy in Michigan.

After wrapping up in Adrian, they moved to the GM Tech Center in Warren where “E7” signs led fans to the new Bumblebee (featured in the photo above). Then, on Wednesday, the movie’s star, Mark Wahlberg, was spotted tossing a football around on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor.

Next, to make up for the filming they missed due to bad weather lat month, Transformers 4 will continue filming on M-52 outside of Adrian, MI on Monday and Tuesday, June 8th and 9th.

In the meantime, construction continues at the set being built on Washington Blvd, near Grand Circus Park, in downtown Detroit. Filming at this site, which is suppose to be a small “town”, will be completed by the end of the month for filming sometime in early August.

We’ve also exclusively heard that they will soon be filming at the Nicholson terminal and dock on the Rouge river near the Detroit river in Detroit on the former Boblo Island boat, though there are no specific dates for the shoot yet.

And, of course, they will be filming a significant part of the film at Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac where they have been building sets since the beginning of the year.

  2. We live right down the street where they are filming in rouge. We are camping out now. Weve seen the explosions and heard the gun fire. Saw a piece of a transformer on a flat bed 18 wheeler. I have some vids of the explosions and sounds of gunfire. Its been pretty awesome 🙂
