On July 18 Neil Patrick Harris and Aaron Paul announced the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Emmy nominees for 2013.
Maybe the most striking thing about this year’s lists of Best Comedy Series and Best Drama Series is how little they vary from last year.
Below is a look at the nominated shows and where they were filmed:
COMEDY SERIES
The Big Bang Theory (CBS) – Los Angeles, CA
Louie (FX) – New York, NY
Girls (HBO) – New York, NY
Modern Family (ABC) – Los Angeles, CA
30 Rock (NBC) – New York, NY
Veep (HBO) – Baltimore, MC
DRAMA SERIES
House of Cards (Netflix) – Baltimore, MD
Breaking Bad (AMC) – Albuquerque, NM
Downton Abbey (PBS) – Hampshire, UK
Game of Thrones (HBO) – Ireland, Croatia, and Iceland
Homeland (Showtime) – Charlotte, NC
Mad Men (AMC) – Los Angeles, CA
The only differences in this year’s lists? Last year’s Drama nominee Boardwalk Empire (which is primarily filmed in Brooklyn, NY) was dropped from the list and replaced with House of Cards and the Comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm (filmed in NYC and L.A.) was replaced by Louie.
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 22nd on CBS from the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles.
