Tom Hanks’ ‘Captain Phillips’ opening three film festivals

Tom Hanks‘ latest movie, Captain Phillips, which was filmed around the U.S. East Coast last year, will premiere at the New York Film Festival on the festival’s opening night, September 27th. It will then open the London Film Festival on October 9th. Lastly it’ll open the Tokyo International Film Festival on October 17th.

The movie, directed by Paul Greengrass, is based on the true story of Richard Phillips, who captained a container ship that was hijacked by Somali pirates back in 2009. Catherine Keener also stars.
