It looks like Superman and Batman might have a new home base in 2014.
According to various reports, the Untitled Man of Steel Sequel, aka Superman Vs. Batman, will begin filming in Detroit, MI early next year.
Detroit Free Press reports, “a source with in-depth knowledge of Michigan’s film incentives and industry said a Warner Bros. project would be announced this week…and that a masked hero would be involved.”
Latino Review is also reporting that the production team has already scouted locations in Detroit that would sub for Gotham City (which was primarily played by Pittsburgh in The Dark Knight Rises).
Other potential locations include Toronto and Morocco. It’s interesting to note that neither of the main Man of Steel filming locations – Vancouver, BC and the Plano/Naperville, IL area – have been mentioned as potential locations either.
In other Detroit news, Deadline Detroit says Beverly Hills Cop 4 will at least be partially filmed in Detroit, too.
