Filming is winding down on Pawn Sacrifice in Montreal.
Directed by Edward Zwick, the movie stars Tobey Maguire as the American chess phenom Bobby Fischer. Lily Rabe, Liev Schreiber, and Peter Sarsgaard also star.
Earlier this month Tobey Maguire was spotted filming around Mansfield and Maisonneuve. It was also reported the Quebec Chess Federation (FQE) was used in yesterday’s shoot.
Montreal’s attractive tax credits and well-equipped studios have attracted many U.S. productions in recent years in including X-Men: Days of Future Past which is headed back to the Canadian city next month for re-shoots.
