Emerson College will honor KVWN Channel 4 Action News news anchor Ron Burgundy by renaming their renown School of Communication to “Ron Burgundy School of Communication” for one day on on Dec. 4.
Burgundy (aka Will Ferrell) will be on campus all day to present Emerson students with his “path to journalism greatness.” The festivities will also include a morning press conference, the official naming ceremony, and an evening screening of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, introduced by Ferrell.
“A visit from Ron Burgundy is a chance to engage with someone who understands the power of media, as well as hairspray, first-hand,” said Emerson President Lee Pelton in a statement.
“I had to pinch myself really hard when I learned that Emerson College was naming its School of Communication for me,” Burgundy said. “It’s kind of a big deal. I can’t wait to inspire students with my story of how I got to the top…the very top. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. It’s a lot of work, especially if you don’t have good hair.”
If you can’t make it to Boston for the day-long event, you can check out the live-stream at emerson.edu.
