Another big budget Hollywood movie is headed to New Zealand.
Z for Zachariah, based on the 1974 children’s by Robert O’Brien, is set to begin filming in Port Levy on Banks Peninsula early next year.
The movie, which is being produced by Tobey Maguire and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Chris Pine, and Amanda Seyfried, follows 16-year-old Ann Burden who survives a nuclear holocaust and nerve gas attack because her farm is located in a remote valley with its own unique weather system.
A farmhouse in Port Levy will be one of the film’s primary locations.
