Rumor has it that some scenes of The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be filming in South Africa.
It has been reported that in May 2013, producer Anant Singh, Chairman of Cape Town Film Studios, revealed to the Cape Town radio station 5FM that they were in discussions with Marvel to possibly shoot some of The Avengers 2 there. Recently a South African casting coordinator, J.P. van der Merwe, was added to the crew of the production, which appears to confirm that the sequel will be filming in South Africa.
The Avengers 2, which is slated to be released in May 2015, will begin shooting at London’s Pinewood Studios soon. It stars Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader.
