Dustin Hoffman and director François Girard will appear at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT on Thursday, Feb. 20 to discuss their next film, which will be shot at the school this spring.
Several scenes for the independent movie, Boychoir, will be filmed on the Fairfield campus starting next month.
Boychoir follows a troubled and angry 11-year-old boy from rural Texas who is admitted to a prestigious East Coast choir school. Completely out of his element, the boy finds himself in a battle of wills with a demanding choir master, played by Hoffman, who recognizes a unique talent in this young boy and pushes him to find his creative self in music.
Kathy Bates will also star as the school’s headmistress.
Next week’s discussion is planned for 7 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts. For more information, visit www.fairfield.edu/hoffman.
