Quentin Tarantino headed to New Orleans for Krewe of Orpheus parade March 3

Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is headed back to New Orleans, however this time he will be riding as the celebrity monarch of the Krewe of Orpheus parade March 3, this parade takes place the day before Mardi Gras.

On Lundi Gras he will lead the 27-float procession, themed The Enchanted World, and be celebrated by over 1,300 krewe members, hundreds of thousands of parade-goers and thousands of revelers attending Orpheuscapade.

According to a news release made by the Krewe, the reason for choosing Tarantino was “his vibrant imagination and dedication to richly layered storytelling.”

In the past other celebrities to ride in the parade have included among others: Hillary Swank, Sandra Bullock, Glenn Close, Stevie Wonder, Whoopi Goldberg, Forrest Whitaker and James Brown.

The Orpheus parade is followed annually by the krewe’s “Orpheuscapade” party, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This year, it will feature performances by Cheap Trick, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Party Crashers, Karma and Elizabeth Lyons. For ticket information visit kreweoforpheus.com.
