For the first time ever, cameras will be allowed to roll in the Houses of Parliament.

The feminist film Suffragette, starring Meryl Streep, is the story of the female campaigners who rallied for women’s right to vote in Britain. Meryl Streep is playing the role of pioneering campaigner Emmeline Pankhurst with filming set to begin during Easter recess. It is believed that Streep will film a rally scene in Parliament where Pankhurst historically led protests around Westminster.

The film is written by Abi Morgan (BirdsongThe Iron Lady), and directed by Sarah Gavron. Starring alongside Meryl Streep are Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Romola Garai, and Ben Whishaw.
