TCM Classic Film Festival underway in L.A.

The fifth annual TCM Classic Film Festival kicked off this week at the TCL Chinese Theatre with the world premiere of the restoration of Fred Zinnemann’s 1955 Oklahoma! and an appearance by Shirley Jones.

Tomorrow, Jerry Lewis will have his hand and footprint ceremony outside the Chinese Theatre before a screening of The Nutty Professor as part of the fest. Other highlights include an appearance by Kim Novak at the Bell, Book and Candle, Alan Arkin speaking with Robert Osborne, Maureen O’Hara at a presentation of How Green Was My Valley and Mel Brooks celebrating the 40th anniversary of Blazing Saddles.

Festival events will also be taking place at the Hollywood Museum, El Capitan and the Montalban Theatre.
