Originally filming in Georgia, the biopic of the Allman Brothers, Midnight Rider, was stalled after the on-set death of camera assistant Sarah Jones. She was hit by an oncoming train after filming on a railroad trestle back in Wayne County in February, prompting a movement to improve safety standards on sets.
Now, director Randall Miller is thinking of relocating the production to Los Angeles where his production company Unclaimed Freight is based. Production can start as early as June.
William Hurt and Tyson Ritter will be portraying past and present Gregg Allman respectively, with Goldie Hawn and Wyatt Russell playing the past and present version of his brother Duane Allman.
