The Michigan Film Office has confirmed the movie Eloise will begin filming in the state next month.

The psychological thriller will use Detroit’s Masonic Temple for its production offices and shoot throughout Wayne County. The old Eloise Psych Center in Westland will be one of the movie’s primary locations.

Eloise takes place inside a defunct insane asylum that Jacob Martin and his three friends break into to find a death certificate which is the key to Jacob inheriting a sizable inheritance. While there, they uncover the asylum’s horrifying past.

Chace Crawford, Eliza Dushku, Brandon T. Jackson, and PJ Byrne will star.

Of course, Eloise won’t be the only movie filming in Detroit this summer. The highly anticipated Batman Vs. Superman is also scheduled to begin filming in Michigan in June.

  1. I grew up at Michigan ave. and Merriman road. We use to travel the woods to Eloise and run around in there with friends. I have a ton of stories. From the blood room to the dentist chair room. We found hundreds of files that got left behind as well. It listed people’s reasons for being there. If anyone is looking for details, email me. Good luck.

  2. Inside sources say that filming will also occur at NRPH. They are keeping quiet about it but many, many vehicles have been seen there. Including a helicopter hovering about for about 6 hours with people on the roof. Also seen was a catering truck that day and several porta potties were there for exactly one day.
