In case you’ve missed my previous posts, I’m working on a new travel guide (tentatively titled 101 Places Every Pop Culture Fan Should See) filled with the best experiences all pop culture fans should have at least once in their lives, like being a movie extra, attending a star-studded gala, being a seatfiller at an awards ceremony, watching a movie film on location, or hanging out with the paparazzi at Sundance. The book will be the best of OLV condensed into 40 pages.
But, here’s the catch, in order to get the book published through Inkshares, a new crowd-driven publishing platform (think Kickstarter for authors), I need to raise enough money to finish the book and cover publishing costs.
With only 22 days left, I still have to raise $3000 which, right now, seems impossible. But, I’m hoping if I can answer some of your questions and offer some sweet new incentives I can turn this around.

Why should I give you money, don’t you make enough running OLV?
I don’t. I run OLV because I’m passionate about helping fans have once-in-a-lifetime experiences. But, I don’t make very much doing it. If I can raise the funds to get this book published I will be able to take the money from book sales and keep OLV going. It’s a struggle keeping the site going without added income and this book could provide me the extra money I need without having to sacrifice the time needed to keep up with the daily updates.
Why can’t I pay with PayPal?
Inkshares determines how the money is received and at this point they do not take PayPal, but you can pay with any major credit or debit card.
Why can’t I just give you a dollar?
Now you can! If you scroll down to the bottom of my Inkshares page you will see an option to Choose Your Own Amount, click it and you can do just that!
Who is getting this money exactly?
Most of the money will go to Inkshares and they will use it to cover the cost of publishing a first run of the book. Any additional money I will use to cover additional expenses I have in writing and researching the book.
How will receive a copy of the book and other incentives?
I will be contacting you in the next few weeks to make arrangements for the incentives I am offering myself. The other incentives you will receive from Inkshares once the book is completed.
Where will this book be available?
Hard copies of the book will be available in bookstores and online at Amazon, etc. There will also be an ebook available at iTunes, Amazon, etc.
