The Toronto International Film Festival is in its 39th year and will run until September 14th.

This year’s festival has a massive lineup of 285 films and 108 shorts with movie stars and directors coming from all around the world to showcase their work.

Here are a few notable films worth checking out:

Miss Julie – Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell star in this adaptation of the Strindberg drama of a young daughter of the court who attempts to seduce her father’s valet.

The Theory of Everything – Jim Marsh’s biopic based on the memoir Traveling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen written by Jane Hawking. Eddie Redmayne stars as the physicist Stephen Hawking with Felicity Jones playing Jane Hawking. It follows the story of how the two met and fell in love while studying at Cambridge in the 1960s.

St. Vincent – Bill Murray makes a rare appearance in this film playing a grumpy old man who reluctantly is recruited by his single mother neighbour (Melissa McCarthy) to look after her young son.

Men, Women & Children – Hometown talent Jason Reitman brings his cross-generational film about the sexual frustrations young teenagers and adults face in today’s world. Ansel Elgort, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, and Judy Greer are among the stars of the film.
