This week filming commenced on Richard Linklater’s Untitled Project, aka That’s What I’m Talking About, in Austin, TX.
Linklater describes the movie as the “spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused“. It is set in 1980 and follows college freshmen, who are also prospective players for the baseball team, as they are introduced to the hard-partying, fraternity-like life of their upperclassmen.
Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechlin, Blake Jenner, and Wyatt Russell are all attached to star in the movie. Actor Glen Powell also confirmed his role in the movie and the start of shooting with this Tweet.
There have also been several casting calls posted for That’s What I’m Talking About on local websites and in newspapers looking for extras to play baseball players, disco dancers, two-steppers, billiards players, bikers, punks, and anyone with a pre-1981 vehicle. Here’s a flyer that was posted around Austin with more details.
Filming is expected to continue through November 22. Today, the project is filming in Weimar, TX. If you spot That’s What I’m Talking About filming in the Austin area, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
