This week Game of Thrones has been filming in Magilligan, County L’Derry, Northern Ireland.

The shoot is reportedly taking place in the woods under Binevenagh Mountain. The area is popular with hikers thanks to its panoramic views. On a clear day the north coast and Scotland can be seen from the summit.

This is the first time the show has filmed in this specific location but its not the first time the site has been featured on screen. It was also used as a location in the movie Dracula Untold.

Game of Thrones, which is based at Titanic Studios in Belfast, has been a major boost for Northern Ireland’s film and tourism industry.
