Gerard Butler is back in Louisiana today to begin filming Geostorm, about “a man who goes into space to prevent climate-controlling satellites from creating a storm of epic proportions as his brother discovers a plot to assassinate the president.”
Today, the movie is filming off of Loyola Ave in New Orleans.
This is the third movie Gerard has shot in Louisiana recently. Playing for Keeps was filmed in Shreveport in 2011 and Olympus Has Fallen was filmed in and around New Orleans the following year.
The WB movie is expected to shoot through February 10, 2015 in New Orleans.

I am a fan of Gerard Butler. I hope this film will be good. My favorite of his is Phantom of the Opera.
Loved Phantom. This looks like a load of thrills. Excellent Cast. Keep the muffins ready.

I love all of Gerry’s movies. My favorite will always be Phantom because of the outstanding acting and Gerry’s wonderful singing voice.
Geostorm should be outstanding also.
Can’t wait.
Interesting, in his worst role he was a vampire albeit a sexy bloodsucker, but his best role, in my opinion, he played an intelligent, vengeful father/husband in Law Biding Citizen.
Are they the ones shooting on Earhart Expressway today?
He also filmed “Dracula 2000” here in the French Quarter. I met him one day while we were watching Scottish soccer in an Irish pub. He bought me a Guinness and was super nice to everyone. All of the Scots knew who he was but I thought he was a camera
tech or some such.
