Earlier this month, Manchester, England started to be transformed into 1900s New York for the new Colin Firth movie Genius. The Pride and Prejudice star is filming alongside fellow A-listers Nicole Kidman and Jude Law on a series of sets built in hidden corners of Manchester.
The movie is expected to film in the area for at least a couple more weeks as crews are still working hard to prepare some of the sets. The area around Harter Street has already had a complete makeover.
Genius, which is set to be released in 2016, tells the story of literary editor Max Perkins, played by Firth, who as editor at publisher Scribner, helped produce some of the 20th century’s most famous novels by history’s greats – such as Thomas Wolfe, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and others.
Jude Law will portray American author Thomas Clayton Wolfe, while Guy Pearce is to take on the role of Fitzgerald.
