Details about the 14th annual performance of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway Benefit for Urban Arts Partnership have finally been revealed.
This year’s event will take place on Monday, November 17 at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City.
The annual benefit brings together heavy hitters in the entertainment industry to write, direct and perform six original short plays, in a 24 hour timespan. Proceeds from the performance will support Urban Arts Partnership, NYC’s largest arts education organization.
This year’s company members include Sasha Alexander, Uzo Aduba, Jamie Chung, Billy Crudup, Peter Dinklage, Rachel Dratch, Nina Dobrev, Michael Ealy, Seth Green, Bryan Greenberg, Melanie Griffith, Taran Killam, Zoe Kravitz, Justin Long, Aasif Mandvi, Stephen Merchant, Diane Neal, Rosie Perez, Jay Pharoah, Amanda Seyfried, Pablo Schreiber, Sebastian Stan, Julia Stiles, Tracie Thoms and Michael Kenneth Williams.
Directors include America Ferrera, Andy Fickman, and Kathy Najimy. Writers include Christina Anderson, Bekah Brunstetter, David Cross, David Lindsay Abaire and Jonathan Marc Sherman. Musical Guests Andra Day and Bryan Terrell Clark and DJ Samantha Ronson are also set to take part.
The marathon process for The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway will begin at 10PM on Sunday, November 16th – the night before the final production. Participating writers, directors, actors, and musical guests, will get together at the American Airlines Theatre and get ready to begin the daunting process of composing and learning a ten-minute play with their assigned team which they’ll perform for a live audience at 8PM the next night.
