The much acclaimed BBC One series The Hollow Crown began filming last Monday at Gloucester Cathedral with stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Judi Dench, and Keeley Hawes. The nearly one-thousand-year-old cathedral is a national landmark attracting thousands of visitors each year.

The series of films follows Shakespeare’s history plays of Richard II, Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. Benedict plays the role of King Richard III in the concluding part of the series.

Right now, Benedict is taking a break from the set to promote The Imitation Game in NYC but he is expected back soon.
