Don’t be surprised if you spot Jessica Biel, Patrick Wilson or Toby Jones in Cincinnati, OH in the coming weeks.

The three actors are currently in town to shoot The Blunderer, a psychological thriller set in early 1960s NYC. Based Patricia Highsmith’s novel of the same name, the movie follows a man as his life unravels from his errors after his wife is found dead at the bottom of a cliff.

The first set photos from Ohio, taken last weekend, have some speculating Biel is hiding a baby bump under her billowing period costumes.

This is the third time Cincinnati has been used to portray a retro NYC in the past year. Miles Ahead, starring Don Cheadle, was set in 1979 New York and Carol, starring Cate Blanchett, was set in Manhattan in the early 1950s.

Productions are attracted to Cincinnati not only because Ohio offers competitive tax incentives but also because the city has developed the infrastructure needed to support big budget films.

“We’re telling them we have people here who are qualified to support their production. That makes a big difference. If you have the support people here that helps their budget, if they don’t have to bring in as many people from out of town,” according to film commission executive director Kristen Erwin Schlotman.

The Blunderer is expected to wrap up production by Dec. 21. If you spot The Blunderer filming in Cincinnati, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
