Since I’ve been covering Movie Set Travel over at Jaunted, I’ve, admittedly, been neglecting our Travel Inspiration column. Here’s a look at what I’ve been working on over there to hold you over until I get back in the swing of OLV’s TI coverage.
Nicolas Cage, currently filming Sorcercer’s Apprentice in NYC, filmed Knowing in Melbourne Australia last year. If you go to Melbourne, you have to check out St. Patrick’s Cathedral, one of the city’s most popular tourist spots and one of Knowing’s filming locations. Adventureland was filmed at a real, working amusement park in Pennsylvania. The majority of Adventureland was filmed at Kennywood Park, located in West Miffin, PA, about ten miles south of Pittsburgh. Kennywood is open daily May 13 – August 25, 2009, and features the usual array of rides, shows, and junk food. For more take a look at “Visit the Real Adventureland in Pittsburgh”.
Like Adventureland, Observe and Report was also filmed at an actual mall. Winrock Mall in Albuquerque, New Mexico served as the back drop for the movie.
