Over the weekend we were bombarded with emails from Walking Dead fans trying to find out where the show’s upcoming spin-off would be filming in Pennsylvania next month.
The hysteria was based on a Craigslist posting looking for extras of all ages to appear in The Walking Dead companion series. The ad also said filming would take place in mid-December, somewhere in Pennsylvania. Though the listing quickly went viral, there seemed to be little truth to it and it was quickly removed.
According to Lancaster Online, the ad was traced to a Pennsylvania-based talent agency “that has been accused of tricking applicants out of money by promising jobs they never deliver” in the past. They also reached out to AMC for confirmation but did not get a response.
What AMC has confirmed this week is who will star in the companion series. Frank Dillane, who played Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) have signed on to star in the show. They will play the kids of a female guidance counselor who is one of the show’s main characters. The series will take place during the same zombie apocalypse Rick and the gang are in, but in a different location, and maybe a different time.
