Casting has been completed and filming on Fargo season 2 is set to begin on Jan. 19.
FX has confirmed Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and Jean Smart will star in show’s next season, which will debut next fall.
According to Variety, “Wilson will star as Lou Solverson, who is described as a young, clean-cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy.” Danson will play his father-in-law, Hank Larsson, who is also the sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. Smart will play Floyd Gerhardt, the matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. Throughout the season, Lou and Hank will investigate a case involving a local crime gang and a major mob syndicate in 1979.
Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine, Jeffrey Donovan, and Angus Sampson will also appear in the show, set in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota.
Filming will take place in the Calgary, Alberta area from January 19 – May 20th, 2015. According to ACTRA Alberta, Alyson Lockwood is handling extras.
