It looks like the Doctor is hitting the road again in series 9.
Doctor Who is primarily filmed in the UK, but the show has been known to film outside of the country, most notably hitting the streets of NYC in 2012.
Now, according to director of photograph Ali Asad, Doctor Who is headed to Spain later this year. “Going to Spain on a location recce for the DR,” he wrote in a Tweet that has since been deleted.
This won’t be the first time Doctor Who films in Spain. A series 8 episode, Kill The Moon, was filmed on the Spanish island Lanzarote.
Doctor Who series 9 is expected to begin filming this spring.
