You would think that most people understand you can’t just randomly throw pizza at a stranger’s roof – even if it does happen to be one of the most famous roofs in TV history – but some Breaking Bad fans don’t seem to care about common courtesy.
Throughout the filming of the hit AMC series, the owners of the Albuquerque home that served as the exterior location of the White home took it all in stride, though their patience might be wearing out as the house has become one of the city’s most famous tourist attractions.
According to Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, fans are not only flocking to the home – which has been owned by Fran and Louie Padilla for over 40 years – but some are actually reenacting one of the series’ most famous scenes in which Walt throws a pizza onto the roof of the home’s attached garage.
Obviously, it’s not cool to throw pizza at the home of an elderly couple, no matter how famous their address, and Vince wants it to stop.
“They’re throwing pizzas on roofs and stuff like that. Let me tell you: There is nothing funny or original or cool about throwing pizzas on this lady’s roof,” Gilligan said in a recent podcast. “It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You’re not the first…I don’t even consider them fans, I consider them jagoffs.”
Jonathan Banks, who plays Mike Ehrmantraut on Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, also took part in the podcast, and he had his own warning for fans who think it’s funny to throw pizzas at the White house. “If I catch you doing it, I will hunt you down” he warned.
