Just in time for Austin’s biggest event of the year, SXSW, Kyle Chandler has shared some of his favorite Austin haunts with The Hollywood Reporter.
The Friday Night Lights star – whose new series Bloodline debuts on Netflix this week – has lived just north of Austin, TX with his wife, two daughters, and a menagerie of animals for six years.
During an interview with THR, he brought reporter Lacey Rose to three Austin mainstays – The Driskill Hotel, Perla’s and The Continental Club.
At The Driskill Hotel, which is also a hot spot for celebrity interviews and press conferences during SXSW, he ordered a “nice, heavy cab” at the bar. Chandler confessed he was the reason there hasn’t been a Friday Night Lights movie while sipping his wine. Fans might be disappointed, his reasoning is understandable. “The show ended perfectly,” he said. “It was five seasons, it was really good, and I just didn’t see a movie.”
In Perla’s, Kyle ordered a dozen oysters and a beer during happy hour, when both are discounted. And, considering the bartender was very happy to see him, we doubt it was his first time stopping in for a cold one.
It’s also no surprise Chandler would bring a reporter to The Continental Club, since it is one of his regular hang outs for live music and a stiff drink. There, he ordered a Wild Turkey shot before bringing Lacey to the airport. SureĀ sounds like a dream assignment to us!
