‘Captain America: Civil War’ begins filming in Atlanta

As the Marvel promotional machine moves full speed ahead in advance of The Avengers: Age of Ultron hitting theaters on Friday, the next film in the franchise is starting production in Atlanta.

According to @ATLWOOD411, Captain America: Civil War is currently filming at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, GA.

The news isn’t a complete surprise since we knew filming would begin this month and have recently seen several new casting calls for the movie, which is filming under the working title Sputnik.

In addition to Atlanta, Captain America: Civil War will also be filmed in Puerto Rico and Berlin.

The movie has an all-star cast including Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Daniel Bruhl, who is rumored to be playing the villainous Baron Zemo, and Anthony Mackie as Falcon.

Captain America: Civil War is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
