‘Under the Dome’ is leaving Wilmington, NC; Huge set sale underway

The CBS series Under The Dome has wrapped up filming its third season in Wilmington, NC, and they won’t be back.

If renewed for a fourth season, the show will be making a move, possibly to Utah. This is the second series to leave North Carolina since the state decreased their tax incentive programs for the film industry. The FOX series Sleepy Hollow also left Wilmington this year and is now filming in the Atlanta, GA area.

Today, most of the show’s props and sets went on sale to the public at the MCO Warehouse, 802 N. 23rd St, Wilmington.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Costumes will be on sale today only at the show’s studio (EUE/Screen Gems), too.

The sale doesn’t necessarily mean the show is coming to an end. CBS has already announced the dome will come down for good at the end of the third season so it’s possible season four will have an entirely new setting and the old props won’t be needed.
