‘Fear The Walking Dead’ season two moves to Mexico

As production begins on the second season of Fear The Walking Dead, AMC has confirmed most of the season will be filmed in Mexico.

Season one, set in Los Angeles, was primarily filmed in Vancouver, with additional exteriors scenes filmed on location in L.A. But, with the show’s focus shifting (there’s speculation much of season two will be set at sea), a change of venue is probably due.

Fear the Walking Dead is now based at Baja Studios in Mexico, which was also used for Titanic, Master and Commander and other water-centric movies. Fear the Walking Dead will return in the spring of 2016 with 15 new episodes.

“We are thrilled to be starting production and even more thrilled to be shooting in Mexico. Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the ‘Fear’ saga. We couldn’t be happier,” said executive producer Dave Erickson.

Fear the Walking Dead takes place in the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, before anyone understood exactly what was going on.
