According to the latest actor to put on Spider-Man’s red suit, the next incarnation of the Spider-Man saga will be shot in Atlanta.
“We’re shooting in Atlanta for most of it, because they have studios there and I think it’s cheaper to build a New York set than it is to shoot here, because it’s going to be very expensive,” Spider-Man star Tom Holland told superherohype.com. “We probably will end up here [in New York] for one week or two.”
This is a big change for the web-slinging franchise as the last Spider-Man movie, 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, was shot entirely in New York State.
The movie is part of Marvel’s deal with Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, GA. Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War have already been filmed there, with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on deck to begin shooting in the studio next year.
