Volunteering at awards ceremonies, comic cons, film festivals and other celebrity events is one of the best ways to see your favorite stars.
The Film Independent Spirit Awards – held on Oscars weekend in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica – celebrates “the broad spectrum of independent filmmaking” and acts as the primary fundraiser for Film Independent’s year-round programs. Among the 2016 Spirit Award nominees are the films Carol, Spotlight, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Son of Saul and more.
Volunteer registration for the Spirit Awards is now open but, before signing up, make sure you meet the following criteria.
– You have to be available to attend one of the following volunteer meetings at the Film Independent offices, located at 9911 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles:
Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm OR Saturday, December 12, 2015 from noon to 2:00pm.
– You have to be able to work at least two shifts at screenings of the nominated films (dates and location TBD).
– You have to be available and in Los Angeles on February 26, February 27 and February 28, 2016.
