Tonight’s world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens might be the biggest in Hollywood history as fans have been camped out for days outside the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre, where the first Star Wars premiered in 1977, too.

Fans who spent at least 24 hours in line earned themselves a seat in the theater for the first public showing of The Force Awakens, while those who were in line the longest also earned preferential seating.

There is already a huge press tent lining four blocks of Hollywood Blvd, along with fan bleachers and security personnel driving around The Force Awakens golf carts.

The premiere is expected to take over not only the TCL Chinese Theatre, but also El Capitan Theatre and the Dolby Theatre, all on Hollywood Blvd.

According to the Los Angeles police department, the latest Star Wars premiere is being treated with “triple the magnitude of a typical premiere,” more than 70 police officers will be on the ground and extra vehicle patrols will be driving around the premiere’s perimeter.

Thousands of fans are expected to line the streets to see the movie’s stars and be a part of the latest chapter in Star Wars history.
