Next week, Michael Shannon is set to begin shooting a new indie film called Pottersville. The movie, which is being produced by Ron Perlman’s Wing and a Prayer Pictures, is rumored to center around a man named Maynard who “gets swept up in a sighting of Bigfoot.”

Filming is scheduled to take place between Jan. 5 and Jan. 30 on location in the small Upstate NY town of Hamilton, known to many as the home of Colgate University. According to Syracuse.com, Hamilton’s Colgate Inn, Swank, Village Green and Village Offices will all be featured in the movie.

Alec Baldwin was once rumored to star in Pottersville but he reportedly backed out due to scheduling conflicts. Adam Scott has also been attached to the project.

No formal casting calls have been announced for extras but Backstage.com reports the movie is looking for “Syracuse local hire talent, both males and females, ages 10-80 of all ethnicities.” To be considered for small roles in the film, send a picture and resume to syracuselocalhire@gmail.com.
